Frequently Asked Questions

Are my creations saved to your server?

No. The Pixel Art Animator is a browser-based tool. All of your drawing data stays on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded or saved on our servers. Important: If you close the browser tab, your work will be lost, so be sure to download your frames.

What formats can I export my animation in?

You can download any single frame as a PNG file with a transparent background. You can also download all frames of your animation as a single ZIP file, where each frame is saved as a sequentially numbered PNG (e.g., `frame_001.png`, `frame_002.png`). This is the ideal format for importing sprite sheets or image sequences into game engines.

Can I change the canvas size after I start drawing?

Yes, you can change the grid size (e.g., from 16x16 to 32x32) at any time. However, please be aware that changing the grid size will clear your current drawing and all animation frames. It's best to decide on your desired sprite size before you begin.

100% Private and In-Browser

This tool runs entirely on your device. Your creations are never uploaded, stored, or viewed by us. Be sure to save your work, as it will be lost if you close the browser tab.
